Flavia Da Rin
Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1978
Flavia Da Rin's artistic career began at the turn of the millennium, a time marked by the technological boom that transformed the way we conceive identity and personal representations. Through her work, she explores these changes and reflects on themes such as femininity, contemporary social stereotypes, and the relationship between art and the market. Educated at the National University of Arts and in Diana Aisenberg's art clinics, Da Rin has been both the director and the protagonist of her work, exploring the infinite possibilities of transformation and renewal of subjectivity.
Using digital manipulation and retouching, Da Rin fuses self-portraits with complex and expressive scenes. From research into the representation of femininity in consumer culture to reflections on the creative process and the relationship of art with the commercial world, her work is a testament to her profound emotional and conceptual exploration. Through these representations, Da Rin questions the very nature of identity, but her work is not only autobiographical; it is also an exploration of the multiple layers of meaning that can be found in an image, an emotion, or an identity.
Flavia Da Rin is an artist who challenges the boundaries between the real and the virtual, the personal and the universal, the intimate and the social. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries in Argentina and around the world, and in biennials such as Busan in South Korea and Cuenca in Ecuador as part of the Argentine representation. In 2019, she held her first retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. Her work is a testament to the complexity of human experience in a constantly changing and transforming world.
