Bruno Gruppalli
He is a visual artist, researcher, and educator. His work constructs a universe of references that interconnect with one another, creating an infinite conversation through the act of citation. In this way, his works transcend periods and materialities, unfolding across a variety of media and languages such as painting, installation, performance, sculpture, and drawing.
Between the figurative and the abstract, he develops his own symbolic language, nourished by his biographical journey. The worlds of music, art history, and popular culture hover throughout his practice, creating layers of meaning that often become textures within the image.
He graduated in Image and Sound Design from the University of Buenos Aires. He trained in workshops led by Daniel Joglar and Miguel Mitlag. In 2013, he received a partial scholarship to attend the Artists Program at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, and in 2012 he was awarded a fellowship at the Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas (CIA). He has exhibited individually and collectively in galleries and institutions across Argentina, New York City, Mexico, and Italy.
