ADRIANA BUSTOS at the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art

Colección Balanz is pleased to announce the loan of two works from its collection by the artist Adriana Bustos.

 

On Thursday, November 18, 2021, the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art opened the exhibition Pilgrim Landscape: Adriana Bustos, Claudia del Río, and Mónica Millán.

“Fantastic, historical, and natural visions converge in this exhibition that brings together three leading artists of contemporary Argentine art. The works of Bustos, del Río, and Millán are fundamental to understanding and rewriting the imagination of the local. Their poetics maintain a close relationship with the environments that shaped them—from the alchemical presence of the Paraná River and the dense Guaraní jungle to the tense relationship they sustain with colonial heritage. Their pieces also carry the affective and political interactions each artist has forged with different communities through fieldwork, across artisanal, scientific, pedagogical, and spiritual practices.” — Carla Barbero, curator of the exhibition.
