From the Collection, we are pleased to announce the inauguration of the exhibition The Ignited Gaze. The show arises from the interest in presenting to a wider audience the valuable holdings of two private institutions that share a commitment to art as a tool capable of fostering critical thinking and awakening perception.
The intersection of these collections brings together works by 31 Latin American artists, spanning diverse backgrounds and generations, who explore the complex fabric of time through their artistic premises or technical investigations — including photography, heliography, chronography, video, and more.
In the words of curator Carolina Cuervo:
"These works, gathered together, ignite one after another a movement or a question; they flare up or extinguish, are stifled, merge, soften, burn. They invite hypnotic contemplation, illuminate revolutionary and poetic ideas, shed light on dark corners of history, appeal to memory, and stimulate the imagination."
The Ignited Gaze can be visited until December 9 at the Fundación OSDE Art Space: Arroyo 807, Buenos Aires.
Free admission, Monday to Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
