Last Thursday, March 12, the exhibition “Mi corazón es un imán, 1992–2025” opened at MALBA. This retrospective of Fernanda Laguna, curated by Miguel A. López, brings together seven sections that trace her individual and collective production from 1992 to 2025, offering—for the first time—a broad overview of her work.
Through a loose and daring practice, Laguna dismantles the solemnity of contemporary art and shares her feminist life through friendship and collaboration.
Colección Balanz celebrates the loan of seven works by Laguna from our collection for this exhibition:
- A qué hora venís?, 2017
- Año nuevo, 2001
- Asombro, 2011
- Cadenas, 2017
- Estoy perdida, 2017
- Monedero, 2000
- Te quiero mucho, 2017
The exhibition at MALBA is presented across two separate gallery spaces with different closing dates: the Level 1 galleries remain open until May 25, while the Level -1 (basement) galleries continue until June 22. It is organized in collaboration with the Museo Reina Sofía.
We invite you to visit the museum’s website for more information: “My heart is a magnet”
At Colección Balanz, we reaffirm our commitment to the dissemination of Argentine contemporary art and celebrate the presence of these works in a leading institution such as MALBA. These kinds of collaborations not only strengthen ties between collections and institutions, but also expand public access to key artistic productions of our time. We encourage everyone to visit this outstanding retrospective and to continue supporting artists like Fernanda Laguna, who keep transforming the art scene with sensitivity, strength, and a sense of community.
