What is this place? 

The short answer: a contemporary art collection. But the reality goes much deeper. This is a manifesto, a living passion, a commitment that has been going strong for nearly a decade.

The Balanz Collection reflects the identity, concerns and motivations of all of us who are part of this company. It is the mirror of how we see the world and how we choose to inhabit it.

You are about to enter Sala Nazaré, our temporary exhibition space. Inspired by the untameable force and mystique of the great Portuguese wave, Nazaré represents the Balanz Collection's commitment to renewing and enriching Buenos Aires' art scene.

In this space we present a program featuring emerging and established artists with whom we feel a genuine connection and whose voice we want to amplify. We also bring together curators, researchers, historians and various art world figures to build together a public program uniquely our own — alive and in constant dialogue.

Going down to the first basement level you will find our permanent exhibition space. This place holds enormous symbolic value for us: much of our collection lives here. Works that serve as thematic pillars coexist here alongside recent acquisitions, the beginnings of new explorations and key moments in our history.

It is not an encyclopedic or methodical display. It does not aim to catalogue or explain everything. It simply seeks to convey the intimate experience of living with art, just as we live it day by day.

Our path as a corporate collection is far from anything programmatic, from rigid systems or traditional cataloguing. It is sustained by the transformative power of art: its capacity to look life in the face, to understand our world and to let ourselves be carried along the paths traced by the artists within it.

It is an immense honor to be able to care for this heritage and open it to you, with the hope that today you take away at least a small spark of that transformative experience that these works awaken in our lives.
